** Upcoming Events:

**Action Steps to Receiving the Holy Spirit Power

Step 1: Name Your Sin and Repent: Micah 3:8 “But as for me, I am filled with power—  with the Spirit of the Lord. I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion.” Before Jesus was ever born, Micah had the Holy Spirit fire and was not afraid to declare Israel’s sin. We should do the same.

Step 2: Let The Holy Spirit Teach You: John 14:26 - “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” - Spend time with Him. Shut out the world, and let the Spirit of God speak to you!

Step 3: Use This Gift: Acts 11: 15-16 - “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning. 16 Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’” God calls us to not only remember the gift, but to exercise it!

** Pastor Mike will be in the office this Tuesday from 12 - 2. I am looking at potentially not having office hours this summer, but making contact with you and setting time to visit with you this summer.

** Jackie Penrod Services - I know that some of you knew Jackie and would love to support her family. The following are the service details coming up this weekend. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Quincy Methodist Church, 111 South Street in Quincy. Pastor Michael Mitchell will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th at the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy, Ohio.

** Women's Conference - Empowered By The Holy Spirit - Do you desire to be empowered by the Holy Spirit which enables you to fulfill the destiny God has called you to walk? Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way.” Tonya Marvin, Founder of Transformed, Revived and Renewed Ministries, is our guest speaker. Tonya finds joy in teaching the church. She has been called to encourage and equip God’s children by being a catalyst to mature the saints to the full and complete measure of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

** Upcoming Events:

** Action Steps to A Strong Family of Faith

Step 1: Prayer - Make prayer a priority and teach your children to pray and trust the Lord. Pray individually and together when you can. Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 - And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Step 2: Study the Scriptures - Individually and together we should study God’s Word and realize that it is our source of strength. Psalm 119:11 - I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Step 3: Trust In God - We are all going to go through difficult times in our lives. We need to be aware that we can trust God no matter what. Proverbs 3: 5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

** Pastor Mike will be in the office this Tuesday from 10 - 1. He is looking at potentially not having office hours this summer, but making contact with you and setting time to visit with you this summer.

** Last Sunday Worship Night was a deep emotional night filled with the Holy Spirit's presence. We were able to worship God, heal in our spirit and body, and hear from people who had a testimony to share! Our next Sunday night worship will be on May 25th at 6;00, in Quincy!!!

**Grief Share Group - Our grief group is currently on hiatus. If you would like to be a part of a grief sharing group, please let Pastor Mike know and we can get it back!
** How to find all things Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff. https://www.cornerstonedegraff.org/ is online but still a work in progress. You are hopefully using the new [email protected] for the church email.

- We are looking for a Lay Leader for the church! - Reach out to me if you are interested in what that means and if you want to think about how God might think you fit.

There are many more ways in which you can get involved. Reach out to Pastor Mike with the ways in which God is calling you to be active!
** Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff is a Global Methodist Church, and we are in the Allegheny West Conference and you can visit their site at https://alleghenywestgmc.org/ if you are wanting more information!  All the videos from the Annual Conference are now posted on their website!

** G.R.A.C.E. notes for this week.

G.R.A.C.E. volunteers,

I just wanted to provide an update regarding G.R.A.C.E.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13th, is our last Pirate Power Pack weekend meal packing for this school year.  We have been packing 108 bags for the last 3 weeks.  Prior to that, our numbers since January have been at about 106 per week.

Thanks to a United Way Youth Allocation grant, we received $2,000.00 for our summer program.  A "little bird" told me that the youth on that committee lobbied for G.R.A.C.E. to receive additional funds (I asked for $1,100.00 - we are blessed!).
We start "Wednesday Summer Lunch Meals" on June 4th.  The schedule is below this Email.  Please be prepared to serve no later than 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Sometimes, people are there before 11:30 a.m., so if you can start early, please do.
Signs are almost done to be posted around DeGraff & Quincy.
We (Sarah & Darlene) would like to have a tentative list of what each group plans to serve so we can share that information if asked.
Each group is encouraged to provide something other than hot dogs, bologna, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  If attendees are in any food programs, those are normally provided to them.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are encouraged as part of the meal plans.
Groups are allocated $150.00 from G.R.A.C.E. for each week your church provides the meal.  Anything above $150.00 for each week is that group's responsibility (churches).  We prefer that the G.R.A.C.E. debit card be used for purchases but in all cases, receipts must be provided to be reimbursed.
G.R.A.C.E. will use the additional $800.00 for the 3 G.R.A.C.E. weeks.
If your group can also provide a "take home bag" for some families, we are suggesting that as well.  Last year, one week, a bag with a box of spaghetti or macaroni, a jar of spaghetti sauce (no glass jars, please), and some canned vegetables were provided.  Another week, peanut butter, jelly, and a loaf of bread were sent home.  We made 15-20 bags because not everyone takes a bag but it just helps tide families over.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Our thanks to everyone who supports G.R.A.C.E. - whether that is by volunteering at events, making financial donations, or most importantly, praying that God leads us where He wants us to go.

Darlene & Sarah C
Co-Chairs

Schedule:
June 4 - G.R.A.C.E. (tentative Subway sandwiches)

** Upcoming Events:

**Action Steps to Make Disciples - from Craig Etheridge - discipleship.org

Step 1: Engage Spiritual Explorers - An evangelist told me once, “You can’t spell gospel without spelling go.” So, disciple making begins with going to your established relationships and telling them about Jesus. John 1:40 / Mark 2:14 / Acts 10: 1-2

Step 2: Connect With New Believers - When we come alongside new believers, we help and encourage their faith to grow, and walk with them when the struggles come. We show them an accurate vision of the “Body of Christ”. Hebrews 10: 24-25

Step 3: Grow Disciples and Disciple Makers - This phase of equipping and training involves discipline. It includes learning to feed yourself by reading God’s Word and learning to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer. 1 Corinthians 9:25 / 1 Timothy 4:7

Step 4: Release New Disciples To Multiply - Jesus intended for disciples to make disciples. Things that are mature, multiply. A mature plant bears fruit. A mature animal produces offspring. A mature follower of Jesus multiplies disciples. That’s what happened in the early church. John 15:8 - When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

** Upcoming Events:

** Action Steps to Live A Resurrected Life

Step 1: Lament Well - John 11 - A resurrection mindset is powerful because it sees pain, suffering and injustice and laments it. In John 11 Jesus joins in, showing his lament over death, and signifying to the Jews that he deeply cared.

Step 2: Bring Your Doubts To Jesus - John 20: 24-29 - Thomas has no problem bringing his wonder and doubt to Jesus. He makes sure to get the answer. Take your doubts and concerns to God. He wants to show you His perspective. This is not the end of the story.

Step 3: Declare The Battle Is Already Won - Isaiah 9:7 - Use scripture to shape your prayers and declarations. Ask God to show you one scripture to pray over a specific nation, topic or person in your heart. Isaiah 9:7 reminds us that there will be no end to His kingdom.

Step 4: Understand The Power Of The Holy Spirit - John 16:5-15 reminds us why the Holy Spirit is powerful to partner with. Meditate on this and keep choosing to rely on the Holy Spirit.

** Pastor Mike will be in the office this Tuesday from 10 - 1.

** Last Sunday Worship Night was an incredible success. We were able to worship God, listen to the testimonies of people, and take communion. What an incredible, Holy Spirit filled night! We are going to be focusing on healing this week! Our next Sunday night worship will be on April 27th at 6;00! Then in May, Quincy is going to host the Last Sunday Worship Night!

** Upcoming Events:

** Action Steps to Worship Jesus Our King

Step 1: Acknowledge His Sovereignty - Colossians 1:16 - “for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He is our King!
Step 2: Live in Gratitude - Matthew 6:33 - “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Even Jesus knows that we should be grateful for what God has done for us.
Step 3: Repay His Love - Galatians 5:1 - “So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” If we are to worship our King, surely He has freed us for the purpose of loving others the way He loved us first!
