** Action Steps to Believing the Bible Is True The Bible is unique among all the books in the world, and its message is unified throughout all 66 books. It was written by over 40 different writers, including shepherds, kings, priests, scholars, fishermen, and prophets, over a span of 1,500 years. However, the Bible remains unified in its message even though it displays a wide variety of genres and its authors wrote for a variety of purposes and exhibited a broad range of emotions. Step 1: God Knows All Things - Isaiah 46: 9-10: “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” We have a history that shows us what He has done and what is to come. Step 2: The Word Cannot Be Changed - John 10: 35-36 - Jesus said, “And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people who received God’s message were called ‘gods,’ why do you call it blasphemy when I say, ‘I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world.” Step 3: Jesus Believed The Scriptures to be True - Luke 4:21 - Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!” After Jesus read from the prophet Isaiah, He then admitted that it was indeed fulfilled! ** Pastor Mike will be in the office this Tuesday from 10-1. ** We will be partnering up with Quincy Methodist starting for our Ash Wednesday Service this week at 7:00 pm on Wednesday! ** Shrove Tuesday (aka Fat Tuesday) Pancake Supper - 4:30 - 6:00 on Tuesday! ** Please be in prayer for Pastor Mike and several of our men who will be on team or on the weekend for the upcoming Men's Emmaus Weekend in Sidney, Thursday through Sunday! Worship - Reflect - Pray - Study - Serve - you can still use these methods! In 2023 we used the 5-S Method of Being The Church - Surrender - Surrounded - Spirit-Led - Self-Fed - Sent - All of these things are timeless and will always be helpful for us to measure whether or not we are "being" the "church". Please pray this week for those who are sick and need healing, and those who you can share the love of Christ with! Do not forget to pray for your church, your community, and your pastor.
