**Action Steps for Carrying Your Cross

Step 1: Die To The Old Self: Galatians 2:20 - “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Step 2: Use Surrender as Worship: Romans 12:1 - “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him."

Step 3: Self-Denial Through Loving Others: Philippians 2: 3-4 - “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too."

** Pastor Mike will  NOT likely be in the office on any specific day this week. I am going to be ramping up my exercise and getting back to normal very soon! Look for a call to visit you in the coming weeks!

** Last Sunday Worship Night - The combined teams from Quincy and Cornerstone made the decision to take a summer break for our Last Sunday Worship Nights. With vacations, graduations, and fair weeks, there will be limited availability for people to be involved. See you in August or September!

** Did you know that God has blessed you with a special set of skills and gifts? He has also called you to be involved and belong to this body of believers. Be prayerful over the possibilities that God is desiring to use you. There are many ways in which you can get involved. Reach out to Pastor Mike with the ways in which God is calling you to be active!.

• Church Lay Leader - Represent the congregation by attending all meetings possible and being the voice of the church within each meeting.

** Allegheny West Annual Conference was on June 24th - 27th at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Part of the Miracle Offering 2026 was more than just monetary support. We agreed to pray with our brothers and sisters in the Congo. I hope and pray that you will continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in the DRC to be healed from the ebola outbreak and to have strength and courage to begin their Global Methodist Church!

G.R.A.C.E. volunteers,

No more packing!! It is time for Summer Break and our lunches in the DeGraff Park.

We will serve lunch every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

We will serve each Wednesday through August 12th (weather permitting).

Praying that God will keep the storms away during our lunch time!

** Our Cornerstone Women's group is planning to meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. The next meeting will take place on July 16th. They will be meeting at the church at 6:00 pm. Come for some fellowship and care, with some fun of course! Feel free to stop in and check it out!

** Our Cornerstone Men's Group is once again caught with a scheduling conflict. We will begin to meet again, the 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights at 6:00 starting on July 22nd! Be sure to join us if you are looking for a way to get connected.

** Youth Group Sunday Night!!! We will be back on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in July!

** Looking for people to join a new small group. Let me know what your availability is and we can find a way to start something new, or get you plugged into something that will fit your schedule!

** A Visit from our new Associate Conference Superintendent. Mark your calendar. Rev. Dr. Dan Gildner, Associate Conference Superintendent, wants to meet with pastors and laity in each of the circuits.  He will be coming to Sidney First Methodist on Tuesday, October 27.  He will meet with pastors at 3:00 pm in the afternoon, and everyone at 7:00 pm.

**Free Sale - Saturday August 1st 10am-2pm! - July 26—after church, set-up for the FREE SALE / July 27-July 30, 6-8pm—Donations accepted 

**Missions Moment - Thank you to all who came out and helped with our lunch in the park. Just being there and talking to people as they eat lunch was such great fun!  Thanks for your support in being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community! The lunches will continue on Wednesdays until August 12th.

There is a lot of fresh produce at the Free Stand. Stop in and help yourself before it spoils! And thanks to everyone that took items!

We are slightly re-structuring our missions team to delegate tasks better for our outreach ministries.  Sue Walls will oversee the mission efforts of our church, but certain people will be responsible for organizing and completing outreach projects we are doing so the workload will be spread out more.  Anyone wanting to help with missions is always welcome to assist any time!  Please see Sue for more info or for any questions regarding missions team work in our church.

** Five Loaves Food Pantry at Quincy Methodist —We are collecting JELL-O (mix or single servings) and we need 55 by Aug. 16th. Meals and food boxes are delivered on Wed. Aug. 19th at 4:30pm.
