**Action Steps For Disciplines To Deepen Our Faith

Step 1: Train for Godliness: 1 Timothy 4:7 - “Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly."

Step 2: Practice What You Learn: Philippians 4:9 - “Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you."

Step 3: Work with God's Power - Philippians 2:12-13 - “Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him."

Backpack Packing will begin again in September! Be on the lookout for dates and times if you can help! 

** Our Cornerstone Women's group is planning to meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. The next meeting will take place on August 20th. They will be meeting at the church at 6:00 pm. Come for some fellowship and care, with some fun of course! Feel free to stop in and check it out!

** Our Cornerstone Men's Group is currently on hold. We will be looking for a new day and time to get started back up here soon, so please be on the lookout for when that might be!

** Youth Group Sunday Night!!! We will be back on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in August!

** A Visit from our new Associate Conference Superintendent. Mark your calendar. Rev. Dr. Dan Gildner, Associate Conference Superintendent, wants to meet with pastors and laity in each of the circuits.  He will be coming to Sidney First Methodist on Tuesday, October 27.  He will meet with pastors at 3:00 pm in the afternoon, and everyone at 7:00 pm.

** Five Loaves Food Pantry at Quincy Methodist —We are collecting Mac-n-Cheese (box or single serving) and we need 55 by Sep. 13th. Meals and food boxes are delivered on Wed. Sep. 16th at 4:30pm.

Thursday: Church Open 10-12 / Cornerstone Women 6:00 pm

Friday: Church Open 11-12 / 5th Quarter 9:30 - 11:30

Next Sunday - The Joy of Service - Mark 10:35-45 / Psalm 91: 1-4 - Sunday School 9:30 / Worship 10:45
