** Action Steps to Keep God’s Love Biblical

Step 1: Believe The Truth - John 17:17: Jesus says, “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” The Bible is the truth. Jesus wants us to use it for training, educating, and learning about our God.

Step 2: His Word brings us close to Him - Psalm 145:18 - The Psalmist writes, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth” When we read it, He is close, and will reveal the truth.

Step 3: Apply Your Life To Scripture - So often we want to apply the Bible to our life, but it calls for us to apply ourselves to the Bible. In Mark 10:17–22 the wise young ruler did all that was necessary, yet Jesus asked Him for his life. 

** Pastor Mike will be in the office this Tuesday from 10-1. 

** We will be partnering up with Quincy Methodist starting this week, rather than Maplewood. Service times will change a little. Quincy worship will begin at 9:30 and Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff will be moving a little to 10:45 am on Sunday mornings. 

**Grief Share Group - We have had the same two people over the past three months so they have decided that we will meet as necessary. If you would like to be a part of a grief sharing group, please let Pastor Mike know and we can get it back!

** How to find all things Cornerstone Fellowship of DeGraff. https://www.cornerstonedegraff.org/ is online but still a work in progress. You are hopefully using the new [email protected] for the church email.

** There are positions available within the church for you to get involved and belong to this body of believers. Be prayerful over the possibilities that God is desiring to use you. 
- We are also looking for a Lay Leader for the church!
There are many more ways in which you can get involved. Reach out to Pastor Mike with the ways in which God is calling you to be active!

** Light Hours is a small group for our college age, young adults and would like a Bible study for your age group, let me know. We can get something started that fits your schedules!

** Our Cornerstone Women's group is planning to meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. The next meeting will take place on March 6th and they will be meeting at the church at 6:00 pm.

** Our Cornerstone Men's group will be meeting weekly! This week there is a bit of a change. Archery is going to be Monday night (tonight) due to a change. We will need helpers at 5:30 at the school and also at 8:00 to help set the auditoria back up. Our book study time will still be Tuesday at 6:00. 

** March 4th - join us for our Shrove Tuesday pancake and ice cream celebration before the start of Lent on March 5th with Ash Wednesday. Details coming soon!

** 5th Quarter has come to a close. We are looking to create a small group that will begin to meet and discuss our plans for next year. Be looking out for the when and where! There are rumblings of a youth event that is being planned and worked on! Stay Tuned!

** Looking for people to join a new small group. This group will meet once a month and will tackle a tough topic that takes some reflection. Think of it as a Bible study, but a little deeper! Want to go deeper? Let us know!

**Missions Moment - We will be looking for ways to work with the new event committee to bring events to our church for members and non-members!

In 2023 we used the 5-S Method of Being The Church - Surrender - Surrounded - Spirit-Led - Self-Fed - Sent - All of these things are timeless and will always be helpful for us to measure whether or not we are "being" the "church".

Please pray this week for those who are sick and need healing, and those who you can share the love of Christ with! Do not forget to pray for your church, your community, and your pastor.

** Action Steps to Keep God’s Love Creative

Step 1: Prune Your Garden - Jeremiah 15:19: "If you repent, I will restore you so that you may serve me.” Repentance allows for the junk to be removed and for the good stuff to grow.
 
Step 2: Fertilize Your Dirt - Proverbs 2: 1-2 - tells us, “My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding.” We have to feed our dirt so that our Spirit can grow!

Step 3: Give It Some Son! - Luke 9: 23-24 - Jesus says that, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” Following Jesus is not easy, but when we get more Son, we can grow.

Elementary doors will be open (north side by the baseball diamond). We will go back and help set up the school after we are done, and not everyone has to go do that!

Step 1: Immerse Yourself In God’s Word, not the world - 1 John 4: 7-8 says, 7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Step 2: Dedicate Time to Pray - Philippians 4: 6-7 - tells us that we should, “pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace.”

Step 3: Live Out God’s Love - 1 John 4:9 - says that, “We love each other because he loved us first. 1 Corinthians 16:14 says, “And do everything with love.”
